Will you take his hand if more storms come?

You know that expression ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’?

Well, for many people there’s a really fine line between the two.

There’s so much suffering in this world, and many exist on that hair’s breadth between life and death, wondering if their tragedy or heartbreak will indeed be the end of them.

But there are those who are made stronger by their ‘storms’ – people whose resilience, grit, and determination afford them the capacity to rise above their life obstacles.

And that’s always impressive isn’t it?

There’s certainly a big focus in mental health circles on the self – on personal tenacity – and rightly so.

We do need to take ownership of our lives and find the strength that’s within us if we’re going to survive.

But I also think we are designed to be in a relationship with a higher being – someone much greater, wiser and more powerful than ourselves, who created us, knows every hair on our heads, and who’s not only aware of the big picture but is helping us draw it.

As the year winds to a close, would you join me in committing your life to God and his purposes and plans for you?

Would you, in faith, pledge to simply trust that he knows what he’s doing and that he cares deeply and passionately for you?

And would you, right now, take your Heavenly Father’s hand and allow him to lead you through any storms the future might bring?

He’s got this, and so have you.

God bless you and thank you for all your support of my blog in 2018.

  1. Amen. Acknowledging dependency on the Lord for strength, and surrendering our own fortitude in favor of leaning on Him is not weakness. Taking Abbaโ€™s hand in the storm is to invite His presence into what is ultimately HIS story told through our life journey with Him. The alternative, I suspect, might just be pride masquerading as strengthen self-sufficiency.

    1. Well said! I like what you say about inviting his presence into what’s ultimately his story anyway. What a relief to know his plans and ways are higher than ours. We need only trust and obey. God bless you.
