I was reflecting on this quote from Trena Reed this morning:

β€œBroken people produce broken love. Like shattered glass, love is distorted at every angle, twisted into something that no longer resembles the original image. But God restores our shattered, twisted, distorted images of love, revealing love’s true face. He takes our brokenness and makes us whole.”

A shattered heart leaves more room for Jesus to work…

In our brokenness we’re all capable of doing destructive things to ourselves and others. I’m sureΒ most of usΒ at some point have suffered theΒ consequence of someone else’s emptiness in some way. It makes me so angryΒ that hurting people hurt others, soΒ often without even realising… Especially when there are ways of getting help.Β When Jesus offers hope and restoration to us.

But as Trena said,Β our natural human brokenness has, at times, terrible results. When we haven’t received the love we need, loveΒ simply becomes distorted and we do damage. I’m so thankful that Jesus is the face of love – and that in a relationship with him there is hope for wrongs to be made right. That we – the abused, the emotionally crippled, the needy –Β can be made whole in Jesus as we turn our eyes uponΒ him.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus

Look full in His wonderful face

And the thingsΒ of earth will grow strangely dim

In the light of His Glory and Grace.

It’s interesting. We are but clay jars, molded by the Father. But it is through our brokenness, through the cracks in our jars, that Jesus shines His light to others.

Beautiful reflections! Spoken as the woman of God you are!

“I saw another strong angel coming down out of heaven, clothed with a cloud; and the rainbow was upon His head, and His face was like the sun, and His feet like pillars of fire;” Revelation 10:1
