Who are the people and things you find the most beautiful, and what is it about them that makes them so?
In the celebrity world, there are certainly some striking images of beauty.
There’s the fresh-looking Miranda Kerr with her gorgeous cheekbones…
or Penelope Cruz with her fiery energy…
And Robert Pattinson if you’re a Twilight fan…
To me, these are just images or examples of beauty – and possibly photoshopped ones at that. But there’s something about each of these people that makes them inherently watchable.
Beauty is everywhere – potentially in your every moment.
I think it’s simply about opening our eyes to what’s right in front of us. Dew on a leaf. The way a baby’s hair curls around her ears. The worn, elegant spine of a book. The way the sky is set alight by the day’s end.
Beauty is all around us.
And in us.
As we walk with God in a relationship with him, he helps us, like a parent guides his children, to become more like him – delightful, radiant, pure. While we will never be perfect this side of heaven, there is such beauty in the redemption process. An internal kind that shines out of our ordinariness. His love changes everything. And will continue to as we walk with him. He gently employs us, the redeemed ones, to reflect himself.
And sure, there is still so much ugliness in the world. The product of human sin is disaster, shame, pain, grief, tears and devastation. But there is so much hope also. In Jesus. The light in the darkness. The answer to all our questions. The beginning and the end. The first and the last.
And this hope, in my opinion, is truly the most beautiful thing in the world.
LOVE this post…well done!! Wonderful words and oh so true…
