“…he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)

Lord, may we hold onto hope. Sometimes it feels our ‘work-in-progress’ lives are works in regression. Sometimes we wonder if our trials and sins will overwhelm us, and we’ll go backwards again. Sometimes we fear that instead of building character, our experiences will turn us bitter and despondent. Lord, may I shake the cobwebs off my faith and claim it again. May I keep moving forward, into the promises you have for me. You have said you will carry the good work you are doing in my life through to completion. You’ve shown me that you are above and beyond my human attempts to make things better. You are daily shaping my character as I put my trust in you for everything. The life of Jesus was one of suffering, but also triumph. May I walk with you through every season, knowing something greater than what I see is being wrought from my life. There is nothing ordinary about a life lived with you, and you will bring all things to their magnificent conclusion in your perfect time and perfect way. I’m sorry for the times I’ve walked away from you. I choose today to trust you again – with everything.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
