“…he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)

Lord, may we hold onto hope. Sometimes it feels our ‘work-in-progress’ lives are works in regression. Sometimes we wonder if our trials and sins will overwhelm us, and we’ll go backwards again. Sometimes we fear that instead of building character, our experiences will turn us bitter and despondent. Lord, may I shake the cobwebs off my faith and claim it again. May I keep moving forward, into the promises you have for me. You have said you will carry the good work you are doing in my life through to completion. You’ve shown me that you are above and beyond my human attempts to make things better. You are daily shaping my character as I put my trust in you for everything. The life of Jesus was one of suffering, but also triumph. May I walk with you through every season, knowing something greater than what I see is being wrought from my life. There is nothing ordinary about a life lived with you, and you will bring all things to their magnificent conclusion in your perfect time and perfect way. I’m sorry for the times I’ve walked away from you. I choose today to trust you again – with everything.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

You truly hit the “nail on the head” this time, great job! I may use part of this in my sermon this morning if you don’t mind?

Thank you! Of course! (though your sermon has probably been delivered already)… Thanks for stopping by and being an encouragement.

It was this past Sunday, but I didn’t think that you would mind. I am just glad that there are others out here on the Internet who are trying to get the message out that God loves everyone if they will only see it. Thanks again and keep checking up on my blog as well.

“There is nothing ordinary about a life lived with you, and you will bring all things to their magnificent conclusion in your perfect time and perfect way.” Wow, so true and wonderfully put…. I live by this and through this… Thank you so much, reads much like my Sunday mass prayer where I place myself, my children and my husband in his hands… AMEN, Alexandra

Thanks so much. That’s awesome that you pray like that every Sunday for your family. Praying you will receive many more blessings and know wonderful adventures within the extraordinary life he has given you.

Keeping my family safe, healthy, TOGETHER, has been my most important and demanding God given task in life and without him for me to surrender to in those moments of absolute ignorance and fleating strength I would not have them as I do… so I can only give thanks and place our lives in his hands… I read your posts like a prayer, you have a beautiful voice

Another post I can relate to. I often feel like there is no progress, things are just stagnant. I get impatient because I don’t feel or see where my path is. I need to be still and trust that I am where He needs me to be and accept that I may never know the scope of His plans for me.

Absolutely – it’s hard isn’t it. We can’t see round the next corner so we fret and strive and speculate. But sometimes God simply asks us to remember the art of waiting, sitting, and receiving what he has for us right now…

good job… I like when you say “Sometimes it feels our ‘work-in-progress’ lives are works in regression. How so true sometimes

    1. GodGirl Avatar

Thanks Joe! I think for all of us it can feel like ‘two steps forward, three steps back’ sometimes. But thankfully our great God is working powerfully behind the scenes, for the good of those who love Him. Thanks for stopping by!

One of my favorite verses. He never leaves anything incomplete. Because it IS a God thing. Sandy

Amen Sandy! Our lives are completely and utterly His, and His work in us is well beyond our natural human effort. Thanks for stopping by!
