I like this image of hiding God’s word in our hearts. For me, it’s about allowing God to direct me to the truth when I need it most. On my own, I’m powerless against sin. I’m often tempted to twist the truth or do things for selfish gain. I don’t always think of others before myself, and I get angry easily. But sometimes God uses words from the Bible to convict me and change my heart, and when that happens I realise I’m completely reliant on his power and grace. May we all keep leaning into his life-changing word and commit his truth to our memories and hearts.
“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”
Psalm 119 NIV
Great scripture and word; one we can all relate too
Thanks Ron 🙂 God bless.
On our walk of faith, there are many temptations and we all fall short at one time or another. You have provided a good scripture to remind us! God’s Holy Spirit is here with us. Encouraging one another in faith is so important! Thank you for sharing your walk of faith!
Thanks Rick! So true. I’m so glad we have the Holy Spirit and the Word to prompt us to make better choices and soften our hearts. We need God so much!
Acknowledging our weakness can be difficult but so necessary to fully experience the power of God and how faith can shape our lives. The tendency is to justify our thoughts and actions.
