Just then I entered my sanctuary.
Closed the door,
Trimmed the wick,
And lit into flame that mysterious, pervasive scent.

But more fragrant
Was the Book that was calling…
Words written long ago,
Yet more alive with each new day.

Come, and I’ll tell you a story…
Whispered the Voice I know so well.
‘A story of people not so different to you…
Equally loved, totally redeemed,
Eternally washed
In my precious blood.’

Come, get clean, my friend.
Be revived,
Renewed,
Recharged,
Refreshed…
I am more than enough,
Right now,
For you…

You’ve captured the warmth. In a way that this time with Jesus is what I run to, slow down to. The beginning and ending of a day in ‘quiet time’.

    Just Lovely. God bless you.

This has me crying. He has given you a beautiful gift and way of expressing and sharing Him . . .and showing what quiet time is really about, really like! Loved this! Love and prayers!

Hi Debbie, wow… I’m so glad it’s moved you, and drawn you closer to Him 🙂 God bless you in all your quiet times with your God, as you keep expressing His heart to us so eloquently. Love and prayers,
      Ali

I like the mood-setting (candlelight) and the preparation to receive the gift of his word. I think I’ll try this to make it more special. Normally, I just sit at my desk and read a few verses at a time.

Awesome. On this occasion I intended it to be some candle-lit ‘me time’ – but I couldn’t help but make it God time. Thanks Janna, God bless.

Yes, Yes, Yes! This can be turned into a song! This is how I feel–I am giddy to open His Word and spend time ALONE with Him. I’m thankful we can be in communion with Him all day long but yes, that time ALONE is so special! Thank you for sharing!
