“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
Luke 6 NIV

Sometimes we cause offence to others through our thoughtless actions… Other times it seems that no matter how nice we are there is always someone who has a problem with us.

We can’t control how others treat us… but we can choose to love. We can choose to bring our ‘enemy’ a hot chocolate, or simply smile at them, or opt for speaking words of peace when they attempt to stir up conflict.

What other ways can we choose to generously love others this week through simple acts of grace and mercy?

Funnily enough I’ve just had a hot chocolate … But I didn’t get one for my enemy … You are so right though … Some we offend unintentionally … Others … No matter what we do they just ain’t going to like you 😁
    Bless you!

Yes, some people are not open to kindness at all – yet others might just be your next best friend if you send a hot chocolate their way 😉

God will bless us abundantly when we do love our enemies. The Beatitudes spell it out. Blessed are those who are pour in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek for the shall inherit the earth…. (all eight Blessed are they…)

So true! God is pleased when we love people that are hard to love.

Your post reminds me of Romans 12:20 — “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Or at the very least smile at them as you let out a wee giggle. It will make them wonder what you are up to! 🙂

HAHAhaha! Good one, that! And maybe more true than we realize!

Haha sounds good – keep ’em guessing! Yeah, I think it’s about loving people in ways they sometimes don’t expect.

Thank you for the reminder of how we all need to show grace and mercy to others, as we ourselves need it so much. Blessings!

Okay, good challenge question. How about putting hand-picked flowers in a little vase outside the fussy neighbor’s door (just make sure it’s not their own flowers, I suppose). In other words, little surprises are good–throws people off balance in a good sort of way. Also, I see you like tea??? Darjeeling is one of my faves.

That’s a lovely idea! Haha yes, probably best not to steal. Yeah, I think the point is to find ways to show love and connect.
Mmm, yes – I love a good Chai, or a lovely rose tea 🙂
