Born again to live again

If we speak in human terms, it’s impossible to be born again.

But in the spiritual sense, we can be.

Because Jesus came back to life from the dead, we too can experience new life – a new birth – when we come to faith.

In this re-birth, we also re-hope.

We’re given fresh hope for a bright future, with God as our perfect parent leading the way.

When we’re born again, we take on a new way of thinking about the world.

We start to love others with the love we find in Jesus.

And we view our life as small and temporary in comparison to the amazing eternity that awaits us.

Being born again means a new start, a new journey, and a new way of living.

We emerge from the shadows that once felt ‘normal’ and walk into the sunshine of Jesus’ embrace.

When we’re born again, we’re finally home, finally free…

And we start to become the men and women we were meant to be all along.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” – 1 Peter 1:3 NIV

  1. When we are born again, our heavenly Father sends the third person of the Trinity to indwell our Spirit. We can’t live the Christian life in our own strength. We can’t be holy with out the Holy Spirit. He produces the fruit (9) in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, faith, gentleness, goodness, kindness and self control. He is also the one that gives the gifts (9) of the spirit: words of wisdom, words of understanding, gifts of tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy, discerning of spirits, miracles, faith and healing. Our Heavenly Father first sends His Son Jesus to save us and then He send the Holy Spirit to indwell us forever to provide the power to live the Christian life.

    1. Amen, Ron, I’m so glad we don’t do life in our own strength but have the Holy Spirit working in us. Thanks for writing. Hope you and the family are well.

  2. I love this! When I gave my life to Jesus it was amazing the change I noticed almost immediately. It was like a HUGE weight had been lifted from my shoulders. And it was. The yoke of this life is heavy. The yoke of Jesus Christ is light and life-changing! Oh, if only more people would come to know that truth.

  3. I loved this too, and what Liz said. :). Sometimes when I see someone from my younger before Jesus days, I think they won’t recognixpze me . . .because I feel so different! :). Just reading this blessed me and renewed my hope tonigh! Thank you!

    1. That’s amazing, Deb. It’s incredible what God can do. We really do become “new creations” when we come to God. May you be blessed as you continue to become more like Jesus through life’s experiences.

    2. I have often wondered the same. Would people from only 10 or 15 years ago who knew me then recognise me as the same person? I was quite a different person prior to knowing Jesus!
