Over the next few days I’ll be sharing quotes that have slowed me down and made me think. This one’s from Ann Voskamp:
“I want to see beauty. In the ugly, in the sink, in the suffering, in the daily, in all the days before I die, the moments before I sleep.”
Our hearts long for beauty because we know it’s powerful.
Beauty turns our hearts to God’s goodness when all else feels dark.
When I walked through a loss with a friend recently, another close friend sent me a picture of flowers.
She wrote:
“Life is a strange mix of incredible suffering and sadness, and also incredible beauty and joy. Try to find some joy today to counterbalance all the other stuff…”
In her message she included this image:

She handed me joy and beauty, and it gave comfort.
Is life feeling dark for you today?
Pursue joy. Pursue beauty. Fix your eyes on Jesus.
God bless,
Ali
