Are you crazy in love with God?
Do you know the love of God?
Deep down?
Do you know you are loved – not just by your friends or family – but loved by God?
Are you gripped by the love of Christ?
When we have the Holy Spirit working in us we realise that Jesus died for us.
And this grips our hearts.
It changes our life forever.
The Holy Spirit has been poured into our hearts, so we understand the message of Jesus.
As humans, our greatest need is to know we are loved.
When the singer Billy Joel spoke to the media about his own disappointment with his life he said this:
I want what everyone else wants – to love and to be loved.

Social commentator Hugh McKay said our deepest need is to be taken seriously.
And as Christians, we are loved, and we are taken seriously.
God takes us so seriously that he went to the cross for us.
And the love he showed for us on the cross urges us to love others.
The love of Christ grabs us and sets our hearts free.
We are gloriously captive to it.
We are gripped by it.
We are hemmed in by his love.
Psalm 139 says:
You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
God is like a mighty river.
We are hemmed in by his banks and the Holy Spirit flows through us.
And not only are we loved by our Father God.
We are free from having to worry about our status or what people think about us.
We are free from having to try and make other people happy.
Who wouldn’t want that kind of freedom?
