You are not the sum total of the reading on the bathroom scales.

You are not the sum total of the result you got in the HSC.

You are not the sum total of what others have said or are saying about you.

You are not the sum total of how many likes you got on that selfie, as awesome as it might have been.

You are not the sum total of how many people said they liked your latest blog/talk/ Facebook share.

You are not the sum total of how happy your children are, or how well your son or daughter is doing at school.

You are not the sum total of your past mistakes.

In fact, you’re not a mathematical equation at all.

You are flawed, yes โ€“ but beautiful.

You are loved by the God of the universe.

You have breath in your lungs and dreams to be discovered.

Your life has promise, even if it doesn’t always feel like it.

As a child of God, you have a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and can look forward to an inheritance that will never perish, spoil or fade…

  1. You had me at “You are not the sum total of what others think about you”. Such a needed statement today, whether it is our own vain imaginations or other’s speculations about us, we are complete in Christ, accepted and loved. Thanks for this post!
