Do you really love him?

Do you believe God is kind? Always? Unfailingly?

Do you believe he cares about you, and has your best interests at heart?

Do you believe he is the sovereign King of your life (as opposed to a genie designed to grant your every wish)?

Do you trust him?

Do you want to please him – or is your relationship conditional on what he does for you?

Have you considered that what you want most in life might not be what he wants for you?

Can you see that closed doors are sometimes the biggest blessings?

Do you sense his everlasting love and unfailing kindness even in the darkest of times and the most precarious of situations?

Do you want God? Do you desire intimacy with him rather than a purely intellectual experience?

And how will you cultivate closeness?

What will you do today to demonstrate your love? How will you respond to his love for you?

“The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”

– Jeremiah 31:3

    1. It’s important to be honest about where we’re at. From there we can make choices which lead us closer to God’s heart. Praying that you’d draw near to him today, Lynn.

  1. Lovely meditation /reflection igniters. My answers vary with the constantly changing situations. I try to focus on Jesus and His promises. However, when my answer is no, that can be so heavy a weight to carry as long as I my focus is not on Jesus.
    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Yes, I can relate to that. We seesaw a lot by nature, but thankfully God can help us stay focused on Jesus and receive his peace and strength.

  2. Yes I love God but I pray that he gives me more faith especially during difficult times. I also know that no matter much I turn away from God; he is always there to love me. I am so glad I found your blog. May God bless you today

  3. Hey, I’m glad I found your blog, I’m Always very thankful when I find Young people who aren’t afraid to express and openly share their faith. Most of the time I know that God is with me, that He knows what I need better than I do myself, but there’s Always this urge to control the situation, forgetting that He is in control. But luckily I realize it faster and adjust quickly than I used to do.
