We edged through the cold, clammy cave.
A roof full of glow worms loomed over us.
The fluorescent pin-pricks were still, yet seemed to dance.
Each was a tiny fleck of light, protruding from the body of an insect.
Yet together they were grandiose in their beauty.
The worms were just bright enough to line our path to the cave’s opening.
One glow worm would not have led us home.
But together they formed a path.
These shining spectators made me feel like royalty.
Little angels lighting my steps.
The glory belonged to them, these miracles of God’s creation.
Each shone a light only they could shine.
They wouldn’t last long on this earth,
Yet they brought unmistakeable brightness.

We are lights too, dropped into this earth for a moment.
To some, we may not seem special.
But to others we’re beautiful and important.
Maybe you feel your brightness has diminished.
That you aren’t seen for who you are.
But keep shining anyway,.
The more you rest in God and his love, the more his glory will appear in you.
He has a unique purpose for you, radiant glow worm.
Lighter of the way.
You are magnificent, beyond what you know.
We can’t turn ourselves into stars, no matter how hard we try.
But we can allow the great ‘Star of David’ to do His work through us.
And reveal himself to those hungry for him.
“Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life—in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing.”
(Philippians 2:14-16)
“The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine.”
(Isaiah 9:2 NLT)
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
(Matthew 5:14-16)
Very cool and who would have guessed! Bit like Hansel and Gretel having a bread crumb trail to follow I thought for a moment, but, then said nah; this is much bigger and brighter! Jolly good show mate! Winston would be right proud! Blessings!
Haha, thanks Lawrence!!
You’re always welcome Ali and it was a glowing event; quite charming I should add! Who would have known; but leave it to you and here we are; more aware of something quite special and even extraordinary! You put a smile on my face and I needed that! Thanks Kiddo! Boy, isn’t God so wonderful that He gave us all this and the chance of a lifetime; with Him! Can’t wait to see and learn more! You’re a good teacher! Lots of love back to ya! Lawrence
