Lockdown is short; heaven is forever

I am currently in lockdown due to the spread of COVID-19 in my state.

A lot of people are struggling with the restrictions.

Many are kept from seeing friends and family.

A number have lost their jobs.

We have no choice but to stay home. We can only go out for exercise or groceries.

I’m thankful for the gym equipment in my local park because my hubby has been bringing home loads of chocolate (not that I’m complaining…)

My friend Amber and I getting creative within the lockdown rules.

It’s a weird time, so we do whatever we can to get through.

As a follower of Christ, I’m comforted that this world is not all there is.

No matter what you go through, it’s not the end of your story.

There is so much hope, both in this world and beyond.

There’s a part of the Bible that talks vividly about heaven. It always moves me.

It describes what God will do when his children meet him face-to-face:

‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” 

‘The old order of things’ includes all the pain and sin and death we struggle with as a result of the fall of man.

But for those who turn from their sin and hand their lives over to Jesus, he promises that one day, in heaven, there will be no more:

+ lockdown due to illness

+ disability due to tragedy

+ sin due to temptation

+ death due to this broken world we live in.

Those who trust in Christ are his children, held securely in his arms for eternity.

God will wipe away every tear from your eyes.

Death and mourning and pain will be long forgotten.

The old order of things will pass away.

God is making everything new.

Hold onto that when all else fails.

    Hi Ali…sorry things are upside down in your world which varies depending on locale. What gets to me is how the human race can be so mesmerized and toss off their human rights so easily without any fight or big push back! I’ve read what honest top scientists and experts have been brave enough to come out and say about this global fiasco. We’re talking about a virus that has around a 99.98 survival rate and all the wearing masks or social distancing or lock-downs is bogus nonsense doing nothing but damaging people and societies as I see it! Did we ever see this strenuous a clampdown over the annual flu no matter what strain? Of course not and flu kills people every year just like a common cold can if the person is weak or has complicating factors.

    Then we have the issue of the unproven and unsafe vaccines (more probably like bio-weapons) that officials want all to take and are preparing to force upon anyone who resists it. Abortion is a freewheeling affair, as the leftist liberals say My Body My Choice, but tis injection into our bodies if suddenly the begin all and end all and nobody has a choice? What is wrong with this picture I ask myself every day and come up with the same answer so far. This is only the work of Satan and many powerful influential individuals are either demonically influenced or actually being possessed to act as useful puppets to prepare the human race for the biggest global catastrophe ever imagined; you can see what I’ve had to say about Biden lately who I am positive is one such cohort, no doubt with all of the sin and corruption he carries in his mad soul, I call him America’s man of perdition! One expert in France said massive die-offs are going to come within a few years. Regardless of what the bottom line truth is I know I smell a huge rat in all of this propaganda being rammed into our heads!

    I hope you all mage well enough and I know you being faithful and a good person as Jesus sees it that you are fine because we Trust in the Lord totally. I hope your nephew Reuben is managing well and God willing showing signs of improvement as we all keep him in our prayers.

      Thanks for writing, Lawrence – and also for thinking of Reuben. Prayers very much appreciated as he continues to go through long months of rehab.
      It’s such a hard balance, isn’t it?

        You’re welcome Ali. Nice to know you and yours are hanging in fine way down under. I’m remembering that dream I had where I was standing face to face talking with Reuben in a clinic type location, where I asked him how is he doing and he I’m good and improving all the time as he was standing! I’m sure it’s no picnic as the saying goes, but he is young and has faith and good character, making him strong in the right way so will keep moving in a positive direction for sure!
        It sure is hard to balance it all, but of course you are spot-on that by trusting in God we are always going to be just fine in accordance with His will. He loves us more than we can fathom so what could be better than that! Have a nice weekend and God bless you too!

    Glad to hear you are keeping things in God’s perspective but my goodness are you still locked down where you are? I know this has been a very real crisis but most of us here are vaccinated and almost everything is operating normally. I do take every common sense precaution including having been vaccinated but as I told my own family – one day we are all going to die of something. I choose to die while still remembering what it feels like to hug my grandchildren! Have a blessed day dear one.

      Yes we are. The cases are out of control. So true, Pete. We are just waiting on vaccines now, and hopefully things will start to go back to normal. God bless you and your family.
