Even though many of us take a break from work over the new year, it can feel anything but relaxing.

There’s all this pressure to make resolutions, set goals, make it your ‘best year yet’ and start strong.

*Sigh.*

While it can be helpful to reflect and prepare for the next season, it can also feel like a lot’s riding on the decisions you make in the first few days of January.

If you are feeling pressured, try taking a moment just to breathe.

Visualise removing that heavy weight of personal and social expectations off your back.

Choose to surrender your burdens to God.

Ask him to take each thought, each half-expressed resolution, each plan and goal, and mould it until it matches his will for your day, your month, your year…

Request forgiveness for trying to do life in your own strength and seek his help instead.

Feel the weight lift off, and experience the freedom of handing the future over to a loving Heavenly Father who cares deeply for you…

God bless you, dear one, as you rest in Jesus.

This is exactly what I’ve been thinking this week! I haven’t made my yearly goals and action items yet because I’m not sure exactly what I want to do. So I’ve been praying for guidance and hoping for some focus this week!

Amen! I’m a bit behind in my reading… but very glad that I stopped by to catch this post, which lines up in exact parallel with where God has me on the Journey at this very moment. Stepping back from all but my “real” writing, and feeling such a peace about letting go of the SM expectations and resting in the heart of what I am called to do. What a breath of fresh air HE IS!!

That’s wonderful. So glad you’re finding freedom and peace in letting go and letting God do what only he can do. He sure is a breath of fresh air and a fountain of peace! 🌤
